1. a written declaration certifying to a person's character, conduct, or qualifications, or to the value, excellence, etc., of a thing; a letter or written statement of recommendation.
2. something given or done as an expression of esteem, admiration, or gratitude.
Testimony's for an Entrepreneur is much like a resume. They show off thatyou've done something, that your worth something in your related field, that you have been credited by satisfaction with your service or product.
Here's a better example; If you were sitting in a bookstore, and you happen to be holding 2 books in your hands, both were on the same subject, but you see, on the back of one, it has 10 ranting and raving testimonies featuring "the NY times" or some celebrity, or magazine, or whatever. The other book....does not. Which do you buy?
Your more than likely to pick up the book with the testimonies on the back because it has a reputation. It MUST be good if Chuck Norris* recommends it(*out of the blue example)! Get the Picture? Your website is much the same. You can be looking at two websites, quite similar in content and expertise, but you want your bang for your buck. You going to go with the person who you KNOW (based on the testimonies) is good.
And you know what?! It's pretty dash darn easy to get testimonials. I mean we've all done Something and we're we all unique and special in our own way. Believe me there is someone in this world that has something great to say about you. Well hunny, that's where you start.
The first place you want to go hunting for a testimonial is your mentor, your teacher, because they have seen your growth and dedication to your product or service.
Then after that, after you've made your first sale, 100% make sure to get a testimony from your client!!!!! Do that for your first 5-10 clients. Now you have something of a Strong Coverletter to demonstrate your growing reputation to your potential clients.
There after you can update your testimony page at your discretion, but at least you have a great head start on your product or services to demonstrate to your potential buyers :)
-Not only do testimonies really amp up your level of expertise, but they make you feel great too, I would always get in the habit of asking for a written testimony from someone who has seen your work, or experienced your services, or has tried and enjoyed your product.
Remember. Reputation is EVERYTHING. The more reputation you have the stronger the sales. Coupled with awesome marketing techniques – you will be unstoppable in your business venture.
